The Present
About
This is the blog of a “self-publisher” located in the geographical heart of Ohio – Columbus.
The focus of Presence Publications is staying focused; the clarity that arises from the benefits of meditation inspires every printed word…”
It’s found that experience is not a determining factor in reliability – it’s the very passion one has for writing that can set his/her present work apart.

“Detaching Even the Attachment to Non-Attachment…”
Your actions speak louder than words…if you are trying to mentally detach your self from something or someone, you are proving to the universe that you do have an attachment and then the universe creates this fear you keep thinking you must detach from.. it’s an endless cycle..give up now before you loose your mind! Just enjoy being attached…it can be fun and exciting!
That really is an endless cycle, and such a wonderful perspective! Yes, a thought of ending attachment is evidence of attachment itself, and trying to “detach attachment” will not work.
When a thought of getting rid of all attachments – even the one to non-attachment – arises, it’s impossible to enjoy the present moment
with the immense effort that kind of task requires, until this thought passes away. To live life effortlessly (not recklessly) can be a moment-to-moment journey of proving – to the universe and to you – that you are still unattached!
Having realized that trying to mentally detach from anything points a finger to attachment; are you still attached to non-attachment at that present realization!?
HeartofBella do you see this site is all about losing the mind!?
However, this website’s is also about promoting “public meditation!” Together, creating who we are. With your wonderful comment, that is the new tagline.
It’s a perfect illustration of the change this blog encourages through dialogue.
Meditatio passwore is: peace. Cool post! Being present! Glad you found your way to my blog. Since you signed up through your blog, wordpress did not give me your email, so I had to give it to you here! Hope you enjoy!
Love,
Jodi
Hi Jodi, thanks so much for stopping by. I’m glad too! Love your blog.
A very sleek inspiring blog. Awareness brings the ability to experience life without or worry, fear or bias each moment.
I have found that mindfulness or meditation works best when you reach that empty stage. Crystal clear awareness accompanies this emptiness. All of our emotions are at our disposal to use as we direct our attention to all the opportunity to available.
If you show up empty all of life is before us. Happiness is found here. The past and future are gone, giving way to now.

Upon reaching that incredible, miraculous stage, it is always at a time when “I” wasn’t reaching for it. It’s because I cannot possibly think about being empty. And in that crystal clarity there is complete control, precisely because there are no thoughts (of perhaps worry, fear), that really there IS no control – no need for control. How beautiful… And that is quite a statement!
Marty you put it beautifully… “If you show up empty all of life is before us. Happiness is found here. The past and the future are gone, giving way to now.” Now is really ALL there is… especially implying no pain. So much unhappiness, suffering lies in the future and the past in the mind.
Thank you for the comments (the compliment, too) and for a very wonderful, informative blog, that I feel many people should read.
I grew up in Springfield,Ohio
No kidding! I’ve been living in Columbus my whole life. Where are you calling home these days, Marty?
SanDiego or North County. You know there are better climates in the states. Sunny weather but traffic is an issue,
It’s just starting to feel like winter here lately, and that takes a toll on the roads big time. Nothing like a good pot hole to hit in the midst of rush hour traffic!
Please check out my new model for mindfulness practice. Formulated from a life time experience of being a pro jock and the discipline to perfect certain skills. Hitting a baseball brings an awareness of how to break a complex task into smaller and smaller parts to master.
This helps thoughts to stay distant and make awareness easier.
What do you think.
